All About Mrs.Beauchesne
This is my EIGHTH year teaching at St.Mary's Catholic School.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree from UNBC in 2002 then went on to complete my Bachelor of Education degree from UNBC in 2004. I did some subbing initially in the public school system before landing this fabulous Grade 5 job at St.Marys which has been my home ever since! During my first couple of years at St.Mary's, I went on to complete my Masters in Education from UBC in 2007.
I was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and my family moved here to Prince George when I was 5 and I have lived here ever since! I grew up here in Prince George and continue to live here happily with my husband of 10 years, my finicky cat Amidala and my spoiled dog Eddie and our new little girl Adria. My husband Ronal works as a Forester (RPF) at Dunkley Lumber.

I Am A Teacher
I am a counselor and psychologist to a problem-filled child,
I am a police officer that controls a child gone wild.
I am a travel agent scheduling our trips for the year,
I am a confidante that wipes a crying child's tear.
I am a banker collecting money for a ton of different things,
I am a librarian showing adventures that a storybook brings.
I am a custodian that has to clean certain little messes,
I am a psychic that learns to know all that everybody only guesses.
I am a photographer keeping pictures of a child's yearly growth,
When mother and father are gone for the day, I become both.
I am a doctor that detects when a child is feeling sick,
I am a politician that must know the laws and recognize a trick.
I am a party planner for holidays to celebrate with all,
I am a decorator of a room, filling every wall.
I am a news reporter updating on our nation's current events,
I am a detective solving small mysteries and ending all suspense.
I am a clown and comedian that makes the children laugh,
I am a dietician assuring they have lunch or from mine I give them half.
When we seem to stray from values, I become a preacher,
But I'm proud to have to be these people because ...I'm proud to say,
I am a teacher!;

Mrs.Beauchesne's Mission Statement

My mission is to instill the value of thinking positive and teaching the students that they can achieve and accomplish any goal that is put in place. I want to pass on this spirit and attitude to other children socially, emotionally, and intellectually in need. I also believe in instilling efficacy in students and holding high expectations that children CAN and will learn and also encourage growth in moral development.
As a teacher with a unique perspective and abilities, I will be a good role model for both my students and others in school. It is important that others realize that people with differences can lead successful, productive lives. I also realize that in order to be an effective teacher, I will be aware of the important ways students vary and will take that diversity into account when planning and instructing. I am empathetic, caring, and open to the diverse learning needs of all students.

I will offer my students a classroom free from prejudice and discrimination and strive to create a learning environment that is safe and comfortable to be in.I believe in living life passionately, excelling in whatever I do, taking risks, finding opportunities, learning from experiences, and being honest with people. I bring these values with me wherever I go, they help define me, and give me direction to live my life. I believe that all youth have the potential to grow into healthy competent adults who will one day make a positive contribution to society. I am committed to giving all my students' high quality instruction, individual time, and effort to help them reach their goals.
Through study and exploration of curriculum material, I will attempt to equip students with tools that will enable them to become lifelong learners. I will offer my students' opportunities to problem solve, question, and discover things for themselves, promoting self-esteem and confidence. In this atmosphere, students will feel comfortable to take the necessary risks to learn and become active participants in their education. I will be there to support, guide, and encourage them on their journey.
Mrs.Beauchesne

A hundred years from now, it will not matter,
what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in,
or the kind of car I drove,
But the world may be different because
I was important in the life of a child
