Rationale behind our Social Studies Curriculum
Social studies is a crucial part of the curriculum for students to gain insight into the past, the present, and the future. It is important for students to learn about certain events in the past that created the present that we live in and how choices we make today, will affect the future. By allowing the students to gain understanding of history, including our own, it gives the students a firmer understanding and appreciation of who they are, where they are, and where they are going.  Students will develop respect for others. History teaches us about certain evensts in our lives and that we must take those events to live consciously and responsibly in order to succeed in the future.
